A change of plans…

Hello wonderful people!

Earlier this year we decided that now was the time to finally reboot our engines and come back to life. We have spent a couple of years realigning, working on other projects and preparing for our big come back, and had shows, podcasts and more ready and waiting to enthral you all this year. Then the world changed.

As the theatre, entertainment and live industries quake in their boots, with our favourite festival – The Edinburgh Fringe Festival – cancelled, and a sudden inability to see people in person, we here at OFitD suddenly had our comeback thwarted. We could choose to wallow in our despair, buckle down the hatches and Netflix until it’s safe to come out – that would be entirely fair and on some days necessary – but we were working toward something…

This something has been in the works for years. It is our Endgame. And it is why were coming back with such a force at the beginning of this year. But I guess we’ll just have to bring it forward now…

Yes, bring it forward.

Like the avengers dragged into revolution, we are scrapping that 5 year plan and making it a now plan. We stand for opportunity and creativity here, so that is exactly what we are doing and creating. We have some very exciting huge news coming this weekend.  But before we do that, we need you.

If you are a creator or creative who has had a show cancelled, someone who is inspired to make something, a teacher or workshop leader with courses cancelled, or someone who just needs that outlet whether it be photography, art, performing or dancing, REACH OUT TO US. We want to know who you are and what you’re doing/were planning on doing. Email us at ofitdarts@gmail.com or DM us here.

We also want to hear from you if you work with or around those in need, caring for others, or in a place that could benefit from access to the arts.

Whilst you do that, keep your peels glued to these pages.

Artists… Assemble.

The Good, The Bad & The Mad – A NEW PODCAST

We told you we were back! We’re kick off the decade with a new podcast; The Good, The Bad & The Mad!

Hosted by the wonderful Meg Elys, this podcast is all about sitting with real industry professionals and talking about their journey to get to being an industry pro, and spilling the beans about the good, the bad and the mad things about their jobs.

The first episode is a lovely chat with the Shakespeare Sisters – a young female filmmaking duo from London who have independently created two films so far, with eyes on bigger and broader projects.

They have their film ‘Soundtrack to Sixteen’ publicly screening on March 14th at the Prince Charles Theatre in Leicester Square in London, UK, so we are talking to them on March 6th! Keep your eyes out for links and where to listen (and watch!)!

We’re BACK!

2020

That’s right! We’ve been away for a while plotting and scheming and this year we’re bringing it all to you this year!

We’re very excited to share news with you: we have new people involved, new projects, new shows and new directions (eventually we’ll get another new website!).

So keep your eyeballs peeled and your ears perked up. MORE SOON!

-Jem, Sean, Joe AND MORE.

New Year, New THINGS

One NEW Foot in the WEBSITE

We’re starting the new year with a new website! It’s simpler, easier, and we’re very excited about it. Have a gander around, wander down memory lane with our previous shows on the left, and why not sign up to get a little notification whenever we post news.

One NEW Foot in the VLOG

As we jump into the new year we land with a couple of new videos! Jem has been busy answering your questions on all things arts and creation, and the first two videos have dropped already! Give them a watch, subscribe so you never miss one again, and send us your questions for Jem to figure out How to…

One NEW Foot in the OPPORTUNITY

This year we’re running at a solo show, and we need a DIRECTOR to point us in the right direction.

Jem is a young girl living in the post-apocalyptic world where zombies roam the streets. But despite the hardships of this new life, she’s started an Anonymous Group for Happiness; because everyone deserves to be happy, even if the world is ending.

The show is funny, whimsical and pointed. A one woman show, this show deals with the themes of happiness, unhappiness, addiction and a phobia of zombies.

But it needs a director. If you’re interested, send your CV and examples of your work to ofitdarts@gmail.com by February 1st. If you aren’t a director and want to get involved, also reach out to us! And do feel free to share with anyone you think might love this project as much as we do.

There you go! A little round up of the month. We’re very excited about this year and can’t wait to see where it takes us all.

Until next time,

Jem, Sean and Joe
